DORMS

DORMS which stands for something that I forget is basically the online paperwork for housing. You will receive this email about 10 days before your arrival date (I got mine more like 2 weeks before). You will get two separate emails, one with a username and one with a password. DO NOT LOG IN RIGHT AWAY IF YOU HAVE ROOMMATES PICKED OUT. If you have people picked out ahead of time that you want to room with, pick a "leader" for the group and everyone gives them their IDs. The ID number will be in one of your emails. This leader will then log in to DORMS, link with everyone, and they must finish filling everything out before you log in. They will fill out preferences for apartment, amount of bedrooms, and amount of roommates. You will probably pick this all out ahead of time. You will order your options from first to last. We wanted 6-8 roommates (there were 6 of us) so DORMS had maybe 8 options for us to order. This list had options like "Chatham Square 2 Bedroom, 6 People" and "Vista Way 3 Bedroom, 6 People" or something like that. So we ordered them first to last, with all of the 6 people options at the top.
Once the leader has all this filled out, you will receive an email inviting you to log in. So you log in and basically agree with everything, and get to review it, then you're done! It's pretty straightforward. It also has all the apartment costs on it, on the page where you pref your options. The most expensive is the Commons 1 bedroom, and the least expensive was a Chatham 2 bedroom (but 6 person). So that usually comes into consideration as well. From least expensive to most expensive was about a $30 a week difference, a Chatham 2 BR being $78 a week (but it would house 3 per room), and a Commons 1 BR being $109 a week (but you get your own washer/dryer). Our personal preferences went like this:

1. Chatham 3 BR (6 person) $92/week
2. Chatham 2 BR (6 person) $78/week
3. Patterson 3 BR (6 person) $92/week
4. Commons 3 BR (6 person) $95/week
5. Chatham 4 BR (8 person) $91/week
6. Commons 4 BR (8 person) $94/week
7. Vista Way 3 BR (6 person) $89/week

That pretty much it! Pretty simple :) At the end of the online paperwork you will receive an email that says it's your boarding pass and says DORMS with bar codes. You print this, then you're ready to go! All you need at check-in is the DORMS boarding pass, social security, driver's license, and I-9 form if you want to fill one out at home (you'll have to fill one out at check-in). Oh, and you must be "Disney appropriate" from the chest up for your ID photo! I wrote this a little bit late but I leave tonight (Sunday) and check-in is Tuesday! I'M SO EXCITED!!! Stay tuned for a check-in blog :)
